Collector N. Mukteswara Rao on Wednesday praised the district under-19 hockey team which won the Trinokelkar Memorial Gold Cup tournament organised in Madanapalle, in Chittoor district.

He presented trophies to each of the 16 team members, who bagged the gold medal.

Thirteen of the team members were from the Boys Junior College, Nalgonda, two from Boys Junior College, Chityal and one from Boys Junior College, Devarakonda.

Three members of the team from the Nalgonda Junior College, Ch. Yadagiri, Sai Prasad and G. Sai Vineeth later took part in the nationals.

In-charge principal of the college Gona Reddy, physical director T. Ravinder Reddy were among those present at the function.

Later the Collector interacted with the team members.

He advised them to be firmly focused on their goal.
